My cat is 5 years old(in human years)she just lost her big front tooth,is that because shes old,or is?
I have 4 cats and none have lost any teeth. The oldest is 18 years old and the others from 2 yrs to 18 years.


Just baby teeth within the first year...after that....not unless their has been an injury in the cat. I would contact your vet and let him examine her.


Since you said "5 years in human years" I guess you are saying she is a kitten? If so, then it's probably her baby teeth.

Reply:It could be, but most of the time it is a bad tooth.
Reply:5 isn't very old. is she an outdoor cat? if so she may have been in a fight. or she hve bad dental problems, has a vet ever told you that? most cats won't start losing teeth from old age til 10 or over.
Reply:5 years old is not old for a cat. There probably is something wrong, she might even have gum disease if you have never taker her to get her teeth cleaned. You'd better get her to a vet and have her checked out.
Reply:I dont think so because shes only about 35 years, my cat was old, she was about 14 or 15.
Reply:My cat lost his big front tooth about four or five years ago. We don't know if he got bonked in the face or if something else happened but he's alive and doing fine.


Now we call him Snaggle Tooth. : )

Reply:she isnt old, cats can live to 18 years, then they are old, bring her to the vets just vets make sure
Reply:I have a 11 year old cat, so your cat isn't old. Cats get to live 20 years or more, so don't worry. My cat also lost a tooth a couple of years ago and it has no problem eating.
