Why do humans have 32 teeth and not 30 or 34?

Well, I think we can assume a need for an underlying symmetry, with the same number of teeth on top as on bottom. This means the total number of teeth would have to be a multiple of 4 which excludes both 30 and 34.

28 or 36 could be symmetrical possibilities, but 30 or 34 is simply out of the question. LOL

Why do humans have 32 teeth and not 30 or 34?
Some don%26#039;t have 32 teeth. Some have a couple Some have three and a half. Some have just one, and it points straight out.

But maybe I just notice these things because I live in the Appalachian Mountains...
Reply:Because 32 is just the right number to fit in your mouth.
Reply:Most people have a total of 32 permanent teeth however genetics can cause extra teeth to develop and erupt. The opposite can happen and a person may genetically be missing a one or more teeth.
Reply:r u looking for a philosophical answer or a medical one?

cuz either cuz god sed so, or cuz humans evolved tha way

Why do humans get wisdom teeth??

I mean its not like it lasts for long, since its hard to clean n its all the way at the very back which is hard to manage, so y do we need it when most ppl go to the dentist to get it pulled out???

Why do humans get wisdom teeth??
Wisdom teeth used to serve a useful purpose, but are now considered vestigial organs. A vestige is a degenerative or imperfectly formed organ or structure having little or no utility, but in the earlier stage of development of a species performed a useful function. The reasons that wisdom teeth are now %26quot;outdated%26quot; are many. Until quite recently, our diet included mostly very coarse food, as well as impurities such as dirt and sand. This coarseness would abrade teeth so significantly that they would take up less space in the jaw. Permanent teeth were also frequently lost at an early age, which would create more space in the jaw. Because the diet was so coarse and hard to chew, the jaw itself would develop into a larger bone because of this constant workout. All of these factors would create more space for the wisdom teeth when they came in.

The heavily processed diet of today does not produce the tooth abrasion or jaw development that we used to see. Modern dentistry has pretty much eliminated significant loss of permanent teeth at an early age. This leaves us with too many teeth and not enough jaw. The wisdom teeth still develop as they always have, but they have no where to go.
Reply:Gives something for the dentist to do now that more and more people are having less cavities. Dentists need money to eat too.
Reply:To help with the digesting process..it helps our food disolve, and become easier to swallow...and if we didn%26#039;t have wisdom teeth--or even back teeth--think about it..literally, we could choke if we weren%26#039;t EXTRA careful. I Dont see how people without teeth can eat---they just have to be careful, without choking. :-D
Reply:It%26#039;s nothing to do with how clever you are that%26#039;s for sure.

They are called wisdom teeth because you have them later on in life.

Why do humans have wisdom teeth?

A couple of theories:

1. Our ancestors (yes I%26#039;m talking about evolution here) had bigger jaws and extra teeth.

2. The fact that they come in late suggests that they aided in replacing lost teeth, which would have been common for early hominids.

At any rate they are close to being called vestigial, meaning that they don%26#039;t really serve any purpose, but they are left over from evolution. Sort of like limb bones on some snakes.

Why do humans have wisdom teeth?
I don%26#039;t know. Why don%26#039;t you ask a creationist in the science and nature category?
Reply:to aide in the crushing of food. its basicly why a shark has hundreds of teeth just in a less grand scale
Reply:Ironic, isn%26#039;t it?
Reply:I chew with mine.
Reply:Because we%26#039;re Wise???
Reply:Because we are soooooo wise... I actually saved mine after the dentist pulled them all out. They are still in tact. Weird, huh?
Reply:Because they have wisdom
Reply:I would assume it is because we used to wear down our teeth a lot faster-therefore having another set of grinding molars come in in our early to mid 20%26#039;s was very beneficial for survival.
Reply:So dentists can make more money.
Reply:The old ancient bone crackers, set far back in the jaw for that needed strength... had mine removed though, I guess they %26quot;civilized%26quot; me.

Although many people don%26#039;t even develop them now, or develop maybe only two. It seems they are evolving away, because we don%26#039;t need them like our ancestors. The old use it or lose it thing.
Reply:For the same reason a billy goat has a beard.
Reply:cuz ignorance teeth would just be a stupid idea...
Reply:In the early history of humanity, people ate rather rough food, often grains which wore down their back teeth and a second set of teeth grew in to replace them.
Reply:I guess because we have so many stupid teeth afew of them had to have %26quot;wisdom ?%26quot; How do I know, mine had to be surgically taken out and have had jaw problems since.....no pains of wisdom, but alot of jaw pain
Reply:so we can get them pulled out.....or so God can touchier us. I think it was for back in the day of no tooth brush. The teeth would

grow in latter, so they could eat, or chew. Considering back in the day they lost there teeth by 35 or so.
Reply:it%26#039;s like the %26quot;residual tailbone%26quot;

would you like yours removed?
Reply:Because the apes refused to accept them!
Reply:In case some other teeth fall out.
Reply:Probably the same reason that people have their wisdom teeth pulled... evolution!
Reply:Simple answer: That%26#039;s how God created us.

Do humans have ivory teeth?

no.

The hard material of the tooth is composed of calcium, phosphorus, and other mineral salts.

The material in the majority of the tooth is called dentine.

The hard, shiny layer that you brush is called the enamel

Reply:Human teeth are actual teeth, whereas Ivory is not. I think I heard somewhere that it is like Rhino horn and is actually made up of tiny hair like particles that bond together.

Ivory comes from Elephant tusks and it is illegal to buy, sell or trade it in most of the world.

Human false teeth where at one time made of Ivory. George Washington was said to own a pair made from Ivory.

Do only humans lose baby teeth and grow adult ones? Dogs, Monkeys, etc...do they lose baby teeth?

All mammals have two sets of teeth. The milk teeth and their adult teeth, it%26#039;s one of the defining characteristics of our genera. Outside of hair, milk and our ear bones.

It%26#039;s the price of having specialized teeth, all other vertibrates with teeth have an unlimited capacity to regrow their teeth. Their teeth are just variations on a cone shape though. No specialized crinders and cutters or chisels.

Do only humans lose baby teeth and grow adult ones? Dogs, Monkeys, etc...do they lose baby teeth?
YES - only sharks don%26#039;t
Reply:Most animals loose baby teeth. Dogs and cats usualy swallow them.
Reply:They almost all do, some have and infinite set of teeth always available to cover the lost ones
Reply:Dogs definitely do. and monkeys presumably so. Anything with teeth when little has to get adult teeth later, because teeth do not grow.
Reply:I know for sure dogs do, I have found several from my puppies.

I gather the same goes for cats and other animals.
Reply:Almost all animals with teeth have both baby and adult teeth.
Reply:I dunno about Monkeys, but puppies do. They usually swallow them, but I am sure if you look really hard you may find one in their food or something.

If gorillas are herbivores, why do they have canine teeth?

I%26#039;m asking this because I%26#039;m contemplating changing my eating habits to raw foods. When getting enough protein is in question, many of the articles I have read mention something about gorillas being one of the strongest animals in the world and they live on raw foods, no meat. Then I%26#039;ve read other articles that claim because humans have canine teeth, we were meant to eat meat since canines are supposedly for shredding meat. So how could this be so if gorillas don%26#039;t eat meat yet they too have canines?

If gorillas are herbivores, why do they have canine teeth?
The point at which something becomes unimportant for an animal is *not* necessarily the point at which it starts to get selected out of genes. At some point in the development of gorillas they would have to have one instance of the animal have that random mutation that makes those teeth either go away completely or to get smaller. My gut tells me that the smaller the change (e.g. in this case making the teeth not grow so large as opposed to eliminating them altogether) is more likely to occur - then too, a small change in the opposite direction (larger teeth) is just as likely. So you have to have that adaptation and THEN it has to confer some advantage over the old design so that after a number of generations the old design is just not longer being produced. So why do they have canines? because some ancestor had them and the gorilla has never written them out of it%26#039;s DNA. That writing out is not an act of volition and, as you see, not necessarily optimal.

PS My, your, our forebears also ate insects. Canines offer no particular advantage to tearing the abdomen off an insect, you can do it with your fingers.
Reply:Because canines have other uses apart from eating meat, like crunching stems, so there was no advantage in losing them.
Reply:Actually, gorillas ore omnivores, just like we are. They eat meat and vegetables.
Reply:Gorillas are omnivores like humans or bears.
Reply:gorillas are actually omnivores. they eat both meat and plants. sometimes they also use their canine teeth for self defense.
Reply:a lot of plant food can be actually quite tough, the canines can be used to shred tough fruits and nuts or twigs. They are mainly used in social interactions in threat displays (males have larger canines than the females do). Gorillas are mainly vegetarian, while they will eat bugs I haven%26#039;t heard of them eating meat (in contrast to chimpanzees), but I haven%26#039;t really researched it. But I am sure if they do eat meat, it will be rare.

If you switch to raw foods make sure you know which ones are good to eat raw. While cooking can have disadvantages it can make food more digestible and I think in some bean it destroys toxins. I think this link is pretty exhaustive about pros and cons.

Why is it carnivour have their teeth all thier lives while humans don't?

humans when getting old almost lost all their teeth far before life span.

Why is it carnivour have their teeth all thier lives while humans don%26#039;t?
It is because carnivores in the wild die without teeth. Pretty simple.
Reply:Hmmmm...my great grandmother is 96. She has just about all of her teeth.

My Siamese cat died when she was 21.She had lost all her her teeth by age 17.

Other animals keep their teeth longer because they eat the right things for how they have evolved. They have to evolve with good teeth to compete. Humans these days don%26#039;t eat right or take care of their teeth properly. Besides humans are not carnivores and we don%26#039;t have to compete for food.
Reply:i exactly do not know the scientific reason...........

but i think that may be due to the continuous use of their teeth for thier daily activities like hunting killing etc due to the daily use their teeth may be strong
Reply:These organisms loose teeth as they get older also, but unless they are in captivity they starve and die.
Reply:In the wild, animals do not generally die from %26quot;old age%26quot; - they get slow and they die. If people died when they started getting slow, they would die long before they were 90, and long before they started losing their teeth.

If you have a house cat, they will live their full lifespan - that same cat in the wild will not live nearly as long, only a few years - if that. They will not have a chance to get old, slow and toothless. People have that luxury. Nothing is going to eat us when we%26#039;re middle aged with sore knees - so we live long enough to lose our teeth. (Anyone who%26#039;s ever had an old cat can tell you that they DO lose their teeth - they can also go blind and get arthritis, just like any other old animal)

Oh, and humans are omnivores, not carnivores. :)

Are there patented systems for root canal implant of false teeth?

Looking for any packaged pateneted system for root canal implanting of teeth into live human bone

Are there patented systems for root canal implant of false teeth?
Root Canal treatment is done for the existing natural tooth ,if the tooth is badly decayed and the pulp is exposed and the pulse is formed and the infection has reached the apex [the tip of the root] by which the tooth is traeted by anti biotics and then in the second visit the dental nerve is removed by sedating the tooth after that the patient wont feel any pain and then the canal is created into the root and and the pulse is drained by irrigation and and medicated dressing is given this procedure may repeat in the other two visits depending on the condition of the tooth and then the canal is filled with gutta percha and sealed .

Implants is done if you have any missing tooth or more ,the bone in which the teeth are fixed by natural process is called Alvular bone ,in which the metal post are fixed by drilling for support to hold the artificial tooth this known as implants.

I%26#039;m sorry but they do as they get older
Reply:They do--baby animals lose their baby teeth and grow adult teeth.

And as animals get older, their teeth can get cavities and they can have dental disease. Their dental disease can get so bad that their teeth fall out, just as humans can.

Reply:Puppies lose their teeth when they are real young, I%26#039;d say up through 6 months old.
Reply:They do when they get older and when they are pups.
Reply:Animals do lose their teethe. For example, in dogs, once a puppy loses their teethe(usually they lose their teethe around six months), you can know how much they weigh if you double their current weight and add ten-twenty pounds. Note--This may not apply to all sizes of dogs. I do know that it applies to large dogs like Labradors and Mastiffs.

Also, Horses lose certain teethe at an early age.
Reply:Quite the contrary... domestic animals, especially dogs, can quickly accumulate tartar on their teeth %26amp; get gum disease %26amp; cavities, just like humans. And...just like humans, prevention is the key! Pets should get their teeth cleaned by a Vet, about once a year, depending on the breed %26amp; the dog%26#039;s age %26amp; diet.. Toy dogs, in particular, should get a regular dental check up along with other preventative health care.As an owner, one can also clean %26amp; brush their dog%26#039;s teeth with a special toothpaste made for dogs.Usually once a week or so.... make sure that your pet gets healthy treats %26amp; bones that are specially made for keeping teeth clean. Same goes for cats, by the way!
Reply:They shed their %26quot;baby%26quot; teeth like we do. If their teeth are not maintained they can also fall out, like ours will.
Reply:most animals do lose their teeth. but usually, example- a common house dog, will lose it and either eat it, or it will get sucked into the vacuum eventually.
Reply:Of course they do!silly

Brushing my dog's teeth?

Can I brush my dog%26#039;s teeth with regualr (human) toothpaste, or do I need to go and buy dog toothpaste??

Please site your source so I know its safe and true!!

Thanks!

Brushing my dog%26#039;s teeth?
yea def use the dooggy tooth paste...it comes with chicken or beef flavor so its like a treat for the dogs and they wont as against the idea of having their teeth clean.

And please spend 3 dollars to buy that dog toothbush. it has 2 ends one is bigger and one side is smaller. its easier to get in the deep inside of the teeth. IF your dogs really doesnt like the teethbrush inside the mouth. They also have the finger brush which you can put it on your finger and you can rub their gum line with the toothpaste.

The whole set is like 10 bucks - def worth the investment!
Reply:You need a special brush and paste. Visit your vet or look at a website that can give you more information about your pet%26#039;s teeth.
Reply:when i brush my dog%26#039;s teeth i would use doggy tooth paste just to make it safer
Reply:No it%26#039;s not good for them to ingest. Human toothpaste isn%26#039;t meant to be swallowed in large quantities and you can%26#039;t teach your dog to spit.

They%26#039;ll like the meat-flavored toothpaste for dogs and it will be easier for you to brush their teeth when they%26#039;re happy.
Reply:Noooo! Don%26#039;t use human toothpaste! You can get doggie toothpaste and a toothbrush in a pack at PetSmart and it doesn%26#039;t cost very much!!!

They come in flavors the dog will love too, like chicken and peanut butter...lol!
Reply:Use ONLY dog toothpaste. Dogs can%26#039;t spit and therefore will swallow human toothpaste, which isn%26#039;t good. Dog toothpaste is special and it doesn%26#039;t matter if they swallow it.
Reply:They make dog toothpaste because human toothpaste is not meant to be swallowed ans dogs dont spit they swallow anything that goes in the mouth. Human toothpaste can poison a dog in large quantities just like humans
Reply:Never use human toothpaste to clean your dog%26#039;s teeth; it can upset his stomach.
Reply:well i brush my dogs teeth and after asking my vet about it i know that its not safe to use human tooth paste on dogs because they could have a allergic reaction to it. you should go to your local pet store to find tooth paste there. and by the way my vet also told me that you should brush your dogs teeth once-twice a month
Reply:Hi,

No, don%26#039;t use human toothpaste. I have a website about Standard Poodles and it has a page all about taking care of your dog%26#039;s teeth. Check it out, it might help.

Hamster's teeth ??

i recently saw my hamster%26#039;s teeth, they were some kind of brownish color. Is this the color their teeth should be? or is it white like humans, or his teeth are in need of a vet check up?

Hamster%26#039;s teeth ??
This is a very normal color for them. The only thing you need to keep watch on is the length of the teeth. If they are too long, they will begin to curve inward slightly and will need to be trimmed by the vet. Now it would be a bad idea to have a check up with your hamster to learn how long the teeth should be or just merely call and ask. I only had one hamster with teeth too long, but he was extremely ill and couldn%26#039;t eat any more and was about to be put down.
Reply:hamster have yellowish teeth...no need to worry. Just give him things to naw on to keep him happy
Reply:They are supposed to by white. ¿Does it have a little piece of wood in his cage? it is very important for hamsters to clean and sharpen them.
Reply:their teeth usually is a little brownish, I was worried when I first saw that too, but I looked in my Hamster book and in the pics where you see the teeth they are brown, so don%26#039;t worry ^_^
Reply:They are supposed to be a yellowish brownish....
Reply:Hamsters do have yellow teeth. You should probably buy a book for hamsters at the pet store it%26#039;s very helpful
Reply:Don%26#039;t worry! Hamsters have a yellowish tooth enamel. So the colouring is perfectly normal! as long as hes getting his dry hamster chow that should keep his teeth clean :)

How to clean our teeth without toothpaste or brush?

How did the early humans clean their teeth? I just read things about cats and learned that cats naturally clean their teeth by chewing bones. Surely, there must be an equivalent for humans? If you were lost somewhere far from civilization, how would your teeth stay healthy?

Anyone has some info?

How to clean our teeth without toothpaste or brush?
Well there are a lot of things that played into keeping these human%26#039;s teeth clean. First of all, they ate good natural food that had no preservatives, additives, or extra sugars. They also ate much less sugar than we do today, so less plaque formed on their teeth. The foods they ate were very fiberous and generally kept their teeth clean. However, many early humans also used grass stalks and frayed twigs to clean their teeth off.

:)
Reply:I hear strawberry%26#039;s will help keep your teeth clean.

Do cats lose their baby teeth like humans do?

Yes, they do... Kittens are born with no teeth. The nutrition they receive from the mother can affect oral development.

Cats, like people, have baby teeth then permanent teeth. The baby teeth will begin to erupt at about 3 weeks of age. Eruption times for the permanent teeth are influenced by breed, environment, nutrition, hormones, and season.A full set of baby teeth should be present in kittens by 6 weeks of age.

The permanent tooth bud will already be formed deep in the gum. This is also the ideal time to train a kitten to accept oral handling. By about 7 months of age, the permanent teeth are fully present.

Do dogs loss there baby teeth like humans?

well puppies do at around 4-6 months of age. if your dog is older than that he may need a teeth cleaning from your vet. Loose teeth are a sign of periodontal disease and gum decay. Puppies loose their back teeth at around 4 months. 5months old they lose their incisors and at around 6 months they lose their canines. You probably won%26#039;t be a lot of them because most dogs swallow the, but don%26#039;t be worried if you see a few around the house. Also, to help alleviate some of the discomfort you can try and give her a soaked washcloth that has been frozen. Let her chew on this. Goodluck and if you have any other puppy question please email me.

Also to answer your other question about the pimple(s) under your dogs skin. That isnt a pimple, it is a mole. My dogs have them too. I asked my vet and that is what he told me they were. So there you go. You can always ask your vet to see what he says.
Reply:yes they do, i have almost all my min-pins baby teeth they usally loose them about 6 months of age, and then their adult teeth grow in and they are not as sharp as the puppy teeth

Reply:dogs arent humans
Reply:Yes they do lose their teeth.. Don%26#039;t be alarmed
Reply:yes they do.
Reply:yes puppies lose their teeth
Reply:Puppies have baby teeth just like humans do and they do lose them, usually around 12 weeks. Many times the teeth are lost during play or eating and the puppy swallows them so the owner never even knows they are gone. Often times, when the puppy is spayed or neutered, the vet will find the baby teeth still in the mouth alongside the adult teeth. These are retained baby teeth and can be removed while the dog is under anesthesia. If you have a young puppy and you find an occasional tooth on your floor, don%26#039;t worry, he%26#039;s just lost a puppy tooth and it%26#039;s completely normal. BTW, most puppies don%26#039;t even feel it when their baby teeth fall out, so don%26#039;t worry about puppy being hurt.
Reply:Yes they do lose them.
Reply:They sure do!!
Reply:Yes dogs lose their baby teeth. I have one in my memory photo album. Have you checked for fleas? Any bites by any insect? If they itch it is is a bite of some sort. I would go the the vet to make sure. If it isn%26#039;t a bite of some sort than it is a pimple just like any human gets.
Reply:Yes, dogs do lose their baby teeth!

They %26quot;teethe%26quot; and thus, like to chew on everything. You may come across them when they lose them, but dogs also tend to swallow them. We%26#039;re going through this with our new chocolate lab who is about 3 months old. We just give him lots of chew toys and rawhides.
Reply:YEP!
Reply:dogs do not loose there teeth unless they break one or they get bad gums
Reply:no
Reply:Yes dogs lose their teeth. They start anywhere from 4 months on up and by the time they are around 11 months old they should have lost all of them and have all adult teeth coming in. If your dog has a lump with an opening it could be an infected bug bite, a festering thorn, or an infected hair follicle. If your dog has a small lump under its skin with no opening it could be a cyst. If it seems to be soft like it is full of fluid it most likely is a cyst. If it feels thicker like it is made of bread dough or something harder you should take the dog to the vet because it could be a tumor. Tumors can be benign (harmless, not growing) or malignant (growing and able to spread) and your vet will need to check it out.
Reply:yes, puppies will lose their baby teeth. you usually won%26#039;t notice, other than some minor bleeding if they%26#039;re chewing on a toy or something. You also don%26#039;t typically find them laying around, they most often swallow them. This was something our vet warned us of when we got our puppy - so don%26#039;t be alarmed. Just like humans, they grow more teeth.

Do a dog get two sets of teeth liike humans or one? Ya know like baby teeth?

Yes, they get their first set of teeth when they around three weeks old and the first set are called milk teeth. Their adult teeth start to come in when dogs are about four months and the milk teeth are pushed out.

Do a dog get two sets of teeth liike humans or one? Ya know like baby teeth?
Yes, they do. Dogs usually just swallow their baby teeth, though. Not something you usually need to worry about.
Reply:Yes, they have puppy and adult teeth. They will loose the puppy teeth between 4-5 months and get their adult teeth.

It%26#039;s one of the reasons puppies chew so much!
Reply:yes, they do have baby teeth.

they fall out and new ones come in
Reply:Dogs certainly get two sets of teeth. They lose their baby teeth, usually will swallow them, but you might find one or two on the floor. Then the adult teeth come in. This is why puppies chew on everything in sight! Baby teeth are also very pointy and sharp.
Reply:Yes dogs have %26quot;baby teeth%26quot;.

At approx 4 months the 8 incisiors (between the canine or fang teeth) fall out to make way for the adult incisors.

At approx 6 months the canines or %26quot;fang%26quot; teeth fall out and the new canines grow in.

Cats are the same way-on approx the same schedule too.
Reply:Yes- puppies have puppy teeth that are very sharp. They often lose them when chewing on toys. You can tell when you find blood on their toy, that usually means that they just lost a puppy tooth. You also might find them around the house! Not good if you have bare feet! Adult teeth quickly replace the puppy teeth.
Reply:yes! they will have very sharp baby teeth that will be replaced by adult teeth as they get older. just like people, dogs will go through a teething period when they want to chew so make sure you have appropriate things to chew on
Reply:Of course. Any book, any vet, anyone who%26#039;s ever owned a dog can give you the answer. Yep, they do have two sets of teeth.
Reply:Of course, that%26#039;s why the tooth fairy can only leave a quarter.

Reply:A puppies baby teeth will begin to fall out between the age of 4 and 6 months.

My puppy's tooth fell out! Do dogs also have milk and permanent teeth like humans? This happened only once.

A pups baby teeth will generally start to loosen at around 3 months. You will notice allot of chewing to help relive the pressure.Usually all the baby teeth are gone, and adult teeth are in at around 7 months. As long as your pup falls in the general vicinity of these ranges,I would say it%26#039;s nothing to worry about.

My puppy%26#039;s tooth fell out! Do dogs also have milk and permanent teeth like humans? This happened only once.
Yup, that%26#039;s perfectly normal. After all, he%26#039;s a PUPPY. He%26#039;ll lose his baby teeth and get adult ones.....
Reply:Yes your puppy is just like a baby. Its teeth will fall out and it will get adult teeth. Totally normal!!
Reply:Yes, the front teeth usually fall out. Don%26#039;t worry about. I was once playing with my puppy, pulling on one side of the rope and she on the other, when I saw blood. When I looked, two of her front teeth was in the rope! She didn%26#039;t cry or anything, and was still pulling as hard as ever. If you feel it%26#039;s something to worry about, take her to the vet. Even if it%26#039;s only to help you feel fine about it.
Reply:Yes they have milk teeth and this is normal! There will be more dropping out over time to make way for the permanent ones
Reply:Yes, all puppies are born with %26quot;baby%26quot; teeth, called deciduous teeth, and then these fall out (and are usually swallowed or lost) and are replaced with adult teeth. Don%26#039;t worry, this is totally normal.
Reply:Nothing to worry about. Just make sure he has things to chew on (hard and soft toys), because he will be doing a lot of that until he gets all of his adult teeth. I used to have an old wash rag that I would wet, and let him chew on after he lost a tooth, it seemed to help him.
Reply:yes, and they usually swallow them, so you hardly ever see them lose one, unless you examine their mouth everyday
Reply:Yep, puppies lose their teeth just like little kids do. Try not to step on them they HURT!!!
Reply:it%26#039;s a perfectly normal thing that happens to puppies! I should have seen it. I think it%26#039;s so cute for a pup to fall out its teeth. Don%26#039;t worry though. It%26#039;ll grow back. Just make sure to keep the tooth under its pillow and tell your pup to make a wish when the tooth fairy comes along!

Do puppies lose their "baby teeth" and grow permanent teeth as humans do/?

yes they do, at about 4 to 5 months of age they will begin loosing their puppy teeth and growing in their adult teeth, during this stage they want to chew a lot. Most people think puppies are teething when they get them and that is not the case, it happens later. They should be done and have all adult teeth around 6 to 7 months old. If they have not lost their baby teeth by then, they will have to be extacted by your vet so they do not interfere with the adult teeth growth and cause problems in the mouth.

Why canine teeth in humans is not growing long like other animals?

why canine teeths are not growing long and so sharp like other animals like dog ,cat, wolf, lion,or tiger

Why canine teeth in humans is not growing long like other animals?
Some people are actually born with sharp canines (I saw a picture of myself when I was 1 year old and thought I could have been a vampire). However, since our teeth only grow to a certain point due to genetic markers (DLX markers I believe are the ones which control tooth growth and development), our teeth only grow to a certain point. Furthermore, we wear our teeth down through eat, dirnking, and occasionally feeling our teeth with our tongue. The general wearing down further reduces the initial tooth size, especially canines. Our teeth do not continually grow like some animals, such as certain members of the Rodentia and Lagomorpha (rabbits) families. Once they have finished forming, they do not grow any larger.
Reply:Cause we%26#039;re not only meat eaters.
Reply:same reason we don%26#039;t have tails !
Reply:formation of the jaw bone. How can these teeth fit and make the jaw bone close. Those animals have longer bones.
Reply:because we have firearms and don%26#039;t have to hold prey with our teeth while killing it. HaHAHA
Reply:All of the animals you described catch and hold live prey in their mouths. The canines are helpful for holding onto live (moving) prey. Humans don%26#039;t--nor have they ever--catch animals with their mouths, so there%26#039;s no reason we would have elongated canines. We hunt with tools, not our mouths.
Reply:.Evolution in practice, as out brains grew larger and we started using tools for hunting and defense large canines were not needed anymore. Also large canine teeth were used as a threat display, when we started using weapons the baring of teeth became obsolete
Reply:ya as per theory of evolution...

as we moved ahead due to increase in cranial capacity we started using tools instead of teeth for preying

also we started cooking food so there was no need of sharp canines. Instead we have good malars %26amp; pre-molars for grindsing.

those r also not flat reason is same cooked food! think logically on this u will get answer
Reply:as a matter of fact, in primates long canines have little to do with their diet.

Instead they seem to be used to impress enemys/rivals or attract females. (Female Canines are very small compared to males in primates, yes, in humans too.)

Do dogs have baby teeth like humans and then when they fall out they grow an adult pair of teeth?

Yes, puppies have 28 deciduous (temporary) teeth and 42 permanent teeth. Puppies have no teeth at birth, and grow deciduous teeth beginning their second week of life. At three months of age, the deciduous teeth begin to be replaced by the permanent teeth.

The replacement process begins with the incisors, and moves backwards through the canines, premolars and finally the molars. The turnover process is usually complete by the time the dog is eight months old, with none of the original 28 deciduous teeth remaining. Most deciduous teeth are swallowed with food and never seen by the pet owner. Occasionally, a deciduous tooth is merely pushed to the side and retained next to the permanent tooth. Retained deciduous teeth can be removed by a veterinarian.

The incisors turn over from deciduous to permanent from two to four months of age. The canines usually convert around six months of age. The premolars and molars follow in that order, with the last permanent molar erupting around eight months of age.

The exact schedule does vary from breed to breed.

Why do canine teeth (in humans) go yellow/discolour more easily than other teeth?

Think they are canines or incisors? sharp pointy ones either side of mouth.

Why do canine teeth (in humans) go yellow/discolour more easily than other teeth?
Canines are thicker teeth than the rest in your mouth so it mas a bigger bulk of dentine. Dentine is a yellower shade of enamel so canine teeth look yellower as a result of the increased dentine.
Reply:lol ive always wondered this too i dont know but you can go here just for info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maxillary_c...
Reply:I think it%26#039;s because we use those teeth to chew most of the time that food will often stick to it. Also where it%26#039;s situated, we don%26#039;t pay enough attention to brushing it.
Reply:Sharp ones are canines.

Canines do the more of the ripping of food. So i guess this is the reason they get yellow faster.

Puppy and their teeth..?

This may be a stupid question but I want to know.....

Besides when I was a kid, Im pretty much a first time dog owner, Do puppies actually lose thier puppy teeth like humans? and if they do, about what age does this usally happen?

thankyou!

Puppy and their teeth..?
yes they do lose teeth like we do. they usually start losing deciduous (baby) teeth around 4 mons of age starting with the incisors. the last teeth to come out are the canines and those start around 6 mons of age.
Reply:yes puppies do loose their teeth like humans do. my dog started to lose his puppy teeth at around 5-6 mnths old but u may not see it around...coz they tend to eat it. i don%26#039;t know why they do that but my dog was losing his teeth n i didnt know where they all disappeared to until i caught him one day abt to eat his own tooth. his brother also did the same thing.

u have to keep a really good eye on ur puppy when they do come around to losing their teeth if u want to collect them. not sayin u do but u mite.
Reply:yes they usually start to loose their puppy teeth around 3-4 months. they start with their little front incisors and then the larger molars will go, and usually last to go is the big k-9 teeth. some dogs, especially small dogs sometimes do not succesfully lose the baby teeth. they will actuall stay in place and the adult ones will grow in beside them. make sure your dog is losing the baby teeth. if they don%26#039;t it can cause malalignment of the adult teeth and dental issues later on. if this should happen to your pup usually the vet will remove the retained puppy teeth when you have your dog spayed or neutered. good luck with your new little one!
Reply:Yes they do, starting in the back (molars) at 3 months, and moving toward the nose until the adult canines (fangs) come out at 5-6 months. Usually you won%26#039;t see it happen, they tend to swallow the teeth. If you do see one fall out, it will probably be a canine since those teeth are the most visible.

Toy breed dogs don%26#039;t always lose the baby teeth when they should, so you should ask the vet to check for and pull any retained bably teeth when you have him/her fixed. The adult teeth still come in, so these dogs end up with 2 sets of very crooked teeth and a lot of dental disease if you don%26#039;t pull them. Yorkies, chihuahuas, and toy poodles especially like to retain teeth.
Reply:this happens early. usually, they lose all teeth efore they turn 1 years old. =)
Reply:Yes, they do. Those are called %26quot;deciduous%26quot; teeth (in humans, too). It occurs in dogs (and cats, too) around 6 to 7 months of age. Humans take a little longer ;-)

Dog's Teeth?

this is pretty random, but ive always wondered. why do dogs have cleaner teeth than humans?

Dog%26#039;s Teeth?
its not really so much that their teeth are cleaner, but their mouths do have less bacteria than humans.

Dogs are constatntly chewing on their toys, and this helps to clean their teeth. For example, if you give a dog a rope toy, the rope toy is essentially flossing his teeth while he plays. This is kind of like tricking a child into eating veggies or something. the dog is having fun and you are happy cause his teeth are getting clean.

Also rawhids help to keep their teeth strong and also helps to remove plaque. this doesnt mean you never need to take your dog to the vet for teeth cleaning, but it does reduce the number of times the dog needs to be knocked out for teth cleanings and saves you money.
Reply:I don%26#039;t think they do. Have you checked out the teeth of some older dogs? Yellowish and build up.

Luckily, they do offer teeth cleaning for dogs these days. With regular visits, you can help prevent that.

You can also buy some dog bones/treats that help remove build up.
Reply:because they chew on things all day and makes them whiter.
Reply:Just speculation, but it may be 1) the bacteria in their mouths, or 2) the food they eat.

The bacteria in their mouths or the acidity level may keep their teeth cleaner. Also, I know that crunchy foods keep teeth clean. Way back when, before homo sapiens emerged, human-like animals stopped being hunter-gatherers and began having semi-permanent settlements. We began making stews instead of eating hard nuts and plants, and our teeth began to rot. Probably TMI, but it explains a lot.
Reply:I think that is pretty subjective.

Most folks I know have reasonable clean teeth, and my

dog, even tho he chews on things that are supposed

to keep his tartar down, still has some build-up ..

not to mention bad breath! lol
Reply:I%26#039;m wondering why you think their teeth is cleaner then ours?

But if I was thinking along those lines, that their teeth are generally cleaner I%26#039;d say because they don%26#039;t eat the sugar we do, drink tea, cola, coffee or anything that stains them.

I%26#039;d say they eat hard food that works at removing the left over foods and plaque.

Very interesting line of thought.
Reply:they don%26#039;t and they need to go to the vet every year for a dental check up. You have heard wrong, they get cavities and gingivitis and plaque like we do. they need to have their teeth brushed daily with doggie tooth paste every day.
Reply:I heard of that before2. I am not sure to be honest. But i think it is because they eat bones alought and they were just born healthy i guess.

I hope i helped.

ps. I share my icecream with my dogs .
Reply:Dogs definaltey do not have cleaner mouths than humans. Ever watched Dr. Know? He did a segment on this very topic. Dog's Teeth?

this is pretty random, but ive always wondered...why do dogs have cleaner teeth than humans?

Dog%26#039;s Teeth?
Actually, they don%26#039;t. This is a myth, along with the myth of dogs mouths being cleaner than humans. Every species has different bacteria in theor mouths, whether good or bad. Years ago when the tests were done on dogs and humans to see whose mouths were dirtier, they were testing the dogs for HUMAN bacteria, and unsurprisingly, they had MUCH less than HUMANS did. The results just stuck, and now they%26#039;re used a lot, but this has since been proven wrong. If dogs had the kind of bacteria that we have in their mouths, ALL dogs%26#039; teeth would literally rot out. The same is true for us: if we had their bacteria, we%26#039;d have no teeth. This is because our bodies are designed different than dogs bodies, and our immune systems are geared towards characteristics of our own species, not that of another.
Reply:well, according to my calculations, dogs have cleaner teeth than us humans because dogs brush more. also, their floss works better. :o)
Reply:I%26#039;d hazard a guess that they have stronger digestive juices, including saliva, since they have to be able to deal with indiscriminate eating habits and using their tongues as toilet paper. ;)
Reply:It%26#039;s because they only eat the same type of food and stuff similar to that.Plus they have all of those bones and toys we give them to get off the plaque.

If humans need to brush their teeth daily once or twice (for hygienic reasons) why do not animals need it so?

If humans need to brush their teeth daily once or twice (for hygienic reasons) why do not animals need it so?
They DO!!Like humans, dogs need their teeth brushed to live longer and eliminate harmful bacteria. I use a special dog toothbrush, and a paste for dogs teeth as well. Pet owners are increasingly aware that the indoor environment we keep them in also requires us to clip their nails, brush, bathe and more!

My cat has her teeth done by the vet to remove dangerous plaque from under the gum, a normal indoor cat situation that causes bad breath and shorter life.I do the nails as she is a very easygoing cat.

Honestly there are people that care less about their health and sadly that of their pets needs too.

Reply:Because animals would find it difficult to use a toothbrush, perhaps God made it so they don%26#039;t really need to brush their teeth - just a guess.
Reply:Most animals have a shorter lifespan. Generally, their teeth are succeptible to decay just like ours, but they won%26#039;t need them for 70+ years, so they won%26#039;t be as likely to decay in their lifetime. They also don%26#039;t eat as many foods that cause tooth decay. In the wild, if an animal looses it%26#039;s teeth, it won%26#039;t survive. Sharks lose thousands of teeth in their lifetime, but new ones always come in.

As far as nails go, some animals file their nails down by scratching (cats).
Reply:Humans don%26#039;t NEED to brush their teeth. They just live longer if they do!
Reply:lifespan is part of the reason, but also, most animals don%26#039;t feed their pieholes with sugary/starchy food like humans do.
Reply:Other animals life spans are shorter, and their diet is different. Also, healthy teeth are much more important in the survival of other species than in humans. Humans can compensate for their lack of teeth with more intelligence than what other animals have. However, given enough time animals will also lose their teeth with old age.
Reply:think about what we eat as humans...sugar,caffiene,alchohol...for those who drink and /or tobacco products...and plus..our saliva is a different genetic make-up than theirs
Reply:Humans chew and leave little in the mouth to decay. Animals completely rinse the remaining food in their mouths with their saliva afer they finish eating. watch cats! Also they dont go around eating rubbish, whether they are hungry or not !
Reply:humen don%26#039;t need to brush their teeth if we don%26#039;t want to.
Reply:who said animals wont have bad breath u just try some wild animals or go to zoo and find it out with the curator .domesticated animals will have soft food to eat which will be cleaned with their tounges like dogs do.u just feed ur dog with biriyani ,chicken and mutton and then observe its breath it really disgusting.coming to nails and hair the type of enveronment and habits make them like that like cats we can see that they keep their nails polishing on bark of tree or rough surfaces and similarly they keep on rubbing their body to floor which will make their hair fall continuously.try putting a cat or dog by not making all these things than u definately see the result with growing nails and hair.
Reply:animals eat different kinds of grass, etc.. and keep themselves clean and fresh
Reply:You should brush your dog or cat%26#039;s teeth everyday or at least once a week with pet toothpaste. They can get diseases like gingivitis.

The length of their hair is in their DNA. Nails can grow very long so they need to be trimmed.
Reply:Dogs can have problems with their teeth when they get older if not brushed
Reply:vets suggest that we DO brush our dog and cats teeth, they even make special dog and cat toothpaste that is meat flavored. Many people do this on a regular basis, some people don%26#039;t. Kind of depends on how cooperative the pet is.
Reply:animals are more wise than men. they eat what is good for them. if they do not like the food which they have to ability to tell by simply sniffing it. man eats all sorts of junks. hence animals do not need brushing and man does twice daily. for men brushing a little advise. after your finish eating any thing, put one sip of water in your mouth swirl it for few second and drink it away. this gives your stomach the minutest part of food which is digestible easily.

we have a 5 month old shar pei, hound, rot, and some other kind.. basically.. we have a 5 month old mut.. and the other day after cleaning up the trash she got into it.. i found one of her teeth... and just now i was coming to sit on the couch.. and i saw something that looked like popcorn in one of the cushion cracks.. so i thought, i%26#039;ll just vacuum it later.. but then i was like.. we havent ate popcorn in forever.. and i went to go look at it.. and its another tooth!! so she%26#039;s lost two teeth in a week.

do dogs loose teeth like humans do? should i be concerned ??

Dog loosing teeth!?
Pups like humans do loose their baby teeth, it is not uncommon for them to swallow them.
Reply:Yes, they do. Puppies start losing their baby teeth at 3 months and finish between 7 - 8 months. So, right now, give your puppy lots of things to chew on because her gums are really sore. One thing my dogs always liked was if you take an old face cloth, wet it, freeze it, then give it to them - very soothing on sore gums.
Reply:Of course they do! Dogs loose their baby teeth just like us. You should only be concerned if your dog starts loosing teeth in later life as this is a sign of serious serious dental disease!
Reply:normal
Reply:Puppies lose their puppy teeth and they get their adult teeth in soon after. It is normal that the puppy is losing teeth.
Reply:Dogs loose teeth just like humans its completey normal.

Shes loosing her teeth because she ready to get her big teeth.
Reply:That is completely normal. Dogs loose their teeth just like we do and then grow adult teeth. You have bsolutely nothing to worri about. My mom would find dog teeth lying on the floor when my dog was a puppy. lol! :)
Reply:this is so normal my 5 month old mut only has one more tooth to loose you are lucky you found them I wanted to keep one of my puppy%26#039;s teeth but I haven%26#039;t found any I brush his teeth daily so I have seen them when they get loose! nothing to worry about the big teeth come in so fast alot of people don%26#039;t even know that their puppy%26#039;s loose teeth!!
Reply:no you should not be concerned all dogs loose teeth like humans. if it was older then 4 or so then that would be odd but before or a little after turning 1 they will lose some of their teeth. i have a yorkie who lost his teeth and we ended up finding all of them some you will find others you wont. hope this helps. god bless you hope you get to read this.
Reply:By now you should have been to a vet and they will tell you that it is part of teething and you will find teeth all over sometimes you will see blood as well ....notice if your pup is scraping his or her face along the ground either outside or inside that is a sign...giving them a hard bone is great....nothing to be concerned with
Reply:My dog is a poodle and he is loosing teeth and he is ALSO 5 months old. Its totally normal. Dont worry. If your so worried, just make a call to your local vet. They are usually free and they can tell you ANYTHING with a lot of detail and can answer ALL your questions.
Reply:Wow! Walking Lady and Cosmo are the only two who correctly spelled LOSE and LOSING.

Teeth may be LOOSE but if so, you might LOSE them, not LOOSE them.

Consequently, if teeth are falling out you might be LOSING them, not LOOSING them.

If your shoelaces aren%26#039;t tight, they might be LOOSE.

I am always amazed at the number of people who incorrectly spell LOSE and LOSING!
Reply:Dogs lose their baby teeth just like humans and it%26#039;s usually around 5 to 7 months old, so don%26#039;t worry, yourr little girl is growing up. Nothing to worry about.

Dog loosing teeth!?
awww. :) She%26#039;sa losin%26#039; her baby teeth! :)
Reply:she%26#039;s fine, just like human babies puppies lose teeth, just don%26#039;t step on one............OUCH!
Reply:Don%26#039;t be concerned, she%26#039;s just losing her baby teeth, same as a human child would.
Reply:you are right. he is just loosing his puppy teeth. the adult teeth will be growing in soon.
Reply:Yes they loose their teeth like children the adult teeth will come in, in its place but please watch the pup retained puppy teeth can and does happen ...if all the pups teeth are not out by 8 months talk to your Vet.
Reply:she is loosing her puppy teeth so don%26#039;t worry. at around 1-2yrs. she will start loosing her back molars. they look like tooth caps.
Reply:She is losing her puppy teeth it is normal. Soon her adult teeth will come in.
Reply:Don%26#039;t worry so much. Dogs like humans lose their baby teeth, and grow adult teeth. The same thing happened to my dog, so don%26#039;t panic.

You shouldn%26#039;t be concerned, its perfectly normal!
Reply:Yes they sure do! They have their puppy teeth, like humans have bay teeth. When my Rat Terrier was a puppy she lost her first tooth. My daughter put in a envelope and still has it. Puppies baby teeth are sharper than the adult teeth.

Lion's Teeth Number?

My son is doing a report on lions, but we haven%26#039;t been able to find the answers about lions teeth. How many teeth do lions have, and do they lose their teeth continually, or do they have permanit teeth like humans?

Lion%26#039;s Teeth Number?
check the university of michigan%26#039;s animal diversity website. they have pictures of most mammalian skeletons/skulls and fact sheets on most animals, lions should be readily available
Reply:From what I remember a lion has up to 30 teeth. I think. But I%26#039;m not so sure about the second question.
Reply:Lions have up to 30 teeth. I looked and looked and could not find out anything about the teeth falling out continually(like sharks) I would assume they have milk teeth which they lose as they get older and then grow their adult sets.

Does Blue tooth cause harm to human body?

Blue tooth uses 2.4 GHz frequency. I was wondering does the Blue tooth headset has any bad effect on human body. mobile phones operate at around 900MHz, which can affect human body on long term.

So, Is Blue tooth safe to use for long period of time.

Does Blue tooth cause harm to human body?
I think so its safe. Actually it works in the normal radio spectrum .
Reply:It definitely has a bad effect on your appearance. It makes you look like a dumb ***!!

Why do Killer whales and similar sea creatures have perfectly straight teeth and humans have crooked teeth?

any picture you see of them they all have perfect teeth (killer whales)

Why do Killer whales and similar sea creatures have perfectly straight teeth and humans have crooked teeth?
Most organisms in the animal kingdom have been here and evolving for a longer period of time then primates. Any organisms whose teeth were truly crooked to a fault would have been eliminated from the gene pool and animals especially ancient wild ones had very poor dentists, LOL. The crooked teeth individuals were removed from the gene pool over time and therefore the genes for better tooth structure and function survived and thrived. Also if you were to really compare a large sample of jaw structure of killer whales you would indeed notice differences in tooth patterns. Another fact is also remember killer whale teeth are shaped like cones so you can not really tell the front or back since they are round, therefore a tooth could be twisted 90 degrees right and would look the same.
Reply:sorry this not an answer but I have to say i never thought of that but it is very true.
Reply:Because - most animals have a bunch of teeth that are all... in line, with their evolutionary past.

We have teeth that are considered %26quot;vestigial%26quot; (wisdom teeth) - and often times DO NOT fit in our mouths or cause problems - thus causing 90% of the population to have them removed.

Oftentimes, if they%26#039;re allowed to grow in, they will cause other teeth to be moved out of the way.

Also - not everyone has crooked teeth. I have plenty of friends who%26#039;ve never had braces that have perfectly straight teeth. So this is also affected partly by genetics.

Dogs/Cats/Horses, etc. can also suffer from bite problems (look at bulldogs, genetically engineered by humans with an UNDERBITE.. this is not a normal bite condition).

If you show/breed dogs or cats, one of the things the judges will always check is the teeth and the bite - are the front teeth crooked, is the bite lined up properly?

So this also shows there%26#039;s a genetic aspect to it - because if a dog has a poor bite/crooked teeth, you really don%26#039;t want to breed it, because the puppies will mostly likely have bite problems as well.

With cetaceans - they%26#039;ve mostly reverted back to a homodont like dentition where all of the teeth serve the same function (cone teeth similiar in Alligators and Crocs for biting down and holding on to fish and other prey).

Since neither of these species have to *chew* their food, they have no need for molars, or incisors for biting off chunks of food, and, so - like I said, specifically with cetaceans since this would be a evolutionary transition BACK to homodont dentition whereas crocs and alligators have homodont dentition by nature.

Do puppies lose there baby teeth like humans?

I gave my puppy a bone and his tooth broke wondering if he will get adult teeth eventually

Do puppies lose there baby teeth like humans?
Yes they do. Sometimes you will find them around the house and where they sleep. Mostly the dogs loose their teeth while crunching on their dog food and swallow them down.

Don%26#039;t worry you didn%26#039;t break your dog with that bone. Before you know it the new one will have replaced it.

I hope this helps good luck!
Reply:yup..dont worry
Reply:My cat did and she got new teeth, and I think a couple of my dogs came out, so I think that your puppy is fine :P
Reply:Yes, they do lose their teeth. Thanks goodness they do...those baby teeth are so pointy.
Reply:yes, I have found them on the floor. Make sure puppy has chew toys. Have fun!
Reply:Yes they do. They cut molars like us too.
Reply:he shure will.make shure he has plenty to chew on
Reply:Yes, they lose baby teeth. But, you should still have the dog checked out in case this was an adult tooth or in case there is something else going on.
Reply:Yes they do. Puppies will eventually loose their baby teeth and the permanent teeth will appear. Most of the dogs swallow their baby teeth when they are eating.
Reply:Yes they do loose their baby teeth... the teeth are of course smaller and softer. Did his tooth break or did he just loose it? Shouldnt have broke just from teething though.
Reply:Yep. I think all mammals do.
Reply:Yes, of course, would you think they keep the same little teeth all thier long lives? no, no.

All mammals loose %26#039;baby teeth%26#039; and get adult teeth to last them a long time;

if they only had their little baby teeth in long life, larger animals such as tigers or others the like, would die, as you see, when the teeth break as they try to cut into larger food/ carcuses. your youthful friend is like and will be fine.
Reply:yup they do, I do belive it is about age 4-6 months! But yes they do lose their teeth!
Reply:Yes. This also means they teethe like babies. Make sure he has plenty to chew on, or it will be your furniture. This stage can last months.
Reply:yes, all puppy lose there teeth like humans. sometimes you will not see them lose there teeth. we found 1 tooth from my dog and he has all of his adult teeth. we think they swallow them or eat them.
Reply:Yes, I have a miniature pinscher, and I found several on the floor when she was a puppy. Give your puppy lots of chew toys, I even bought her one of those teething rings for babys and she loved it. One of her baby canine teeth did not fall out and her adult tooth came in, so she had a double row with one tooth, but the vet removed it when she got spayed and microchiped.
Reply:Yes. Don%26#039;t worry about baby teeth; just wear long sleeves until he gets his adult teeth, and don%26#039;t let him grab your hair. I wouldn%26#039;t discipline a puppy for chewing on you while he has baby teeth. They do it to their mothers too. But if he growls and bites, you%26#039;d better show him who%26#039;s the alpha member of the pack.
Reply:Yes, I have a Weimaraner and a Yorkie, they both lost baby teeth and got adult teeth :-)
Reply:yes
Reply:Save the baby teeth. They%26#039;ll bring you good luck.
Reply:Puppies do lose their teeth. Usually around 5 months, they will lose them and new ones will grow in shortly after. Sometimes you don%26#039;t even notice when they lose them.
Reply:Yes, they lose their teeth just like we do as little ones

Would it be possible to plant for humans rodentike teeth that never seize to grow?

never cease to grow?

I think that would be tough. If you have a tooth implanted, it%26#039;s not natural to your mouth. It wouldn%26#039;t have the connections necessary to continue growth. Not to mention, adult human teeth are not set to grow anyway, even with the right connections.

If you%26#039;re going to have them implanted, just pick big ones. Or, have a pin installed where you can switch to larger caps when you want.

I've noticed some dogs have really nice looking teeth...?

Is a dentist able to transplant dog teeth into human mouths?

I%26#039;ve noticed some dogs have really nice looking teeth...?
Sure send me pix when you get it done ;)
Reply:Why yes. Just look Michael Jackson in the mouth.
Reply:Sure, why not. You need to tear all your own teeth out first though.

Go ahead and do that and get back to us. We can work from there.

What's the difference between incisors and canine teeth? (if there are any)?

is it the different terms use to describe the same teeth in human and animals, respectively? or what?thanxxx~

What%26#039;s the difference between incisors and canine teeth? (if there are any)?
Yes there is a difference.

On the top:

The incisors are the front 4 teeth. The 2 front teeth (big) right in the center are called the %26quot;central incisors.%26quot; Then, on each side of the 2 front ones there are miniature versions of the 2 front ones, called lateral incisors. Then you have the canines, which are have more of a pointed edge as opposed to flat edge. Its almost like a mirror image if you start right between the two front teeth.

The bottom:

the same pretty much for the bottom, except all the incisors usually are the same height and shape.

Incisors are used to bite into something to eat. (incise)

Canines are used to %26quot;shear%26quot; food.

Canines are very important teeth, and usually have the longest root out of all the teeth in your mouth.
Reply:In the human dentition, canines and incisors are shaped differently and located at different places in the mouth, and canines generally have longer roots than incisors.

I don%26#039;t know if veterinarians call those teeth with different names in different animals though. You will have to ask a veterinarian about that.
Reply:Incisors are the teeth directly at the front of your mouth, these are adapted for biting. Canine teeth are the fang shaped ones just after the incisors, these were originally designed to tear into meat. Then you have the pre-molars and molar which were originally designed to chew vegetation

Are dogs teeth like humans?

My puppy%26#039;s teeth are coming thru and they look tiny and ragged. Is this normal? They are coming thru so fast aswell, in two days the broke thru the gum and are now 2mm above!!

Are dogs teeth like humans?
usually, a pup%26#039;s %26quot;baby teeth%26quot; begin to fall out when they are 4-6 months old. It is normal and they do grow in very quickly (as soon as one falls out, you can see the new one growing in right behind it). Just like humans, the teething stage is very uncomfortable and somewhat painful, chewing on things eases the pain (unfortunately), so buy some toys he/she can chew on!! Dog%26#039;s teeth are different from human teeth in many ways, but generally they do require some maintenance.
Reply:it%26#039;s normal their teeth grow really fast , don%26#039;t worry .
Reply:Very normal!!! Enjoy the teething phase ;) Protect those ankles!!
Reply:Yes very normal, and remember their teeth are like ours so brush them or buy something to help keep their teeth clean.
Reply:It%26#039;s very normal.

My 6 months boxer mixed with a lab, is losing her teeth all of the sudden, is that normal?

yesterday i noticed my puppy%26#039;s fang on the floor. Then today i noticed her top right inside of her mouth was kind of bloody, then i didnt really see a tooth ther, so im guessing she lost that tooth or molar. Then it came to my attention that her left side upper molar was very very lose to the point where i could pick it out out her gums..so im wondering is that normal?? i mean do puppies lose their teeth like human do? and will they grow back? please i would really appreciate it if you can help me...shes my 1st puppy and i dont know what to do or to expect. Thank you so much for your time.

God bless you

My 6 months boxer mixed with a lab, is losing her teeth all of the sudden, is that normal?
puppies do lose their teeth. usually at 4 months old. the adult teeth usually grow in and push the baby teeth out...sometimes the baby canine teeth (fangs) stay in too, and there will be an adult tooth and a baby tooth next to it. most of the time you don%26#039;t even notice cuz they swallow the teeth. i wouldn%26#039;t get too worried at this point...keep an eye on the teeth for a few weeks. if new fangs don%26#039;t grow in, go to the vet. hope this was helpful.
Reply:ok this is SO random and hopefully you see this, but you answered a question where you said you didn%26#039;t want other people to know how you look cuz there are stalkers out there...is there seriously a way to find out, cuz i%26#039;m questioning taking my picture off lol Report It

Reply:Your puppy is losing her baby teeth. Her adult teeth will grow.
Reply:yah, they%26#039;re just like humans. around that age, a puppy%26#039;s baby teeth will fall out and a new set will grow. it%26#039;s a bit unusual for them all to fall out at once or within a few days, but it%26#039;s fine. if she whines and chews her toys, that is why. good luck! she%26#039;s fine.
Reply:My dog lost his teeth when he was a puppy too. I don%26#039;t remember him losing them as fast as yours, but they get new ones that are bigger - just like we do. If there is alot of blood or she seems to be in pain, I would talk to a vet.
Reply:She%26#039;s just losing her puppy teeth..Be sure to soften her kibble until her new teeth are all in..
Reply:Congratulations, you are the tooth fairy!

Your baby is indeed losing her baby teeth and she will get a whole new adult set.

Nothing to worry about.

If she is missing a lot of the back teeth, soften her food by adding some water for about 4 minutes before feeding her.
Reply:YES, puppies have baby teeth they need to loose, you might see her at times digging at her mouth with her paws or rubbing her mouth on the floor.

Don%26#039;t be alarmed, it%26#039;s normal.
Reply:Yes,all puppies lose their baby teeth and then they get new ones. Now is the time to have her spayed as well.Good luck with your pup.
Reply:did u consult ur vet ?
Reply:Perfectly normal for puppies to lose baby teeth, just like humans do. Nothing to worry about at all! Soon she%26#039;ll have a full set of adult teeth!
Reply:she could be teething and they will fall out yes they will grow back and she will have her adult teeth
Reply:She is loosing her baby teeth and the adult ones will come in if they aren%26#039;t already on the way. Check her gums with your fingertip and see if you can feel the new tooth just under the gum line. Don%26#039;t worry, she will be fine.
