How to clean our teeth without toothpaste or brush?

How did the early humans clean their teeth? I just read things about cats and learned that cats naturally clean their teeth by chewing bones. Surely, there must be an equivalent for humans? If you were lost somewhere far from civilization, how would your teeth stay healthy?

Anyone has some info?

Well there are a lot of things that played into keeping these human%26#039;s teeth clean. First of all, they ate good natural food that had no preservatives, additives, or extra sugars. They also ate much less sugar than we do today, so less plaque formed on their teeth. The foods they ate were very fiberous and generally kept their teeth clean. However, many early humans also used grass stalks and frayed twigs to clean their teeth off.
