Dog's Teeth?

this is pretty random, but ive always wondered...why do dogs have cleaner teeth than humans?

Actually, they don%26#039;t. This is a myth, along with the myth of dogs mouths being cleaner than humans. Every species has different bacteria in theor mouths, whether good or bad. Years ago when the tests were done on dogs and humans to see whose mouths were dirtier, they were testing the dogs for HUMAN bacteria, and unsurprisingly, they had MUCH less than HUMANS did. The results just stuck, and now they%26#039;re used a lot, but this has since been proven wrong. If dogs had the kind of bacteria that we have in their mouths, ALL dogs%26#039; teeth would literally rot out. The same is true for us: if we had their bacteria, we%26#039;d have no teeth. This is because our bodies are designed different than dogs bodies, and our immune systems are geared towards characteristics of our own species, not that of another.
Reply:well, according to my calculations, dogs have cleaner teeth than us humans because dogs brush more. also, their floss works better. :o)
Reply:I%26#039;d hazard a guess that they have stronger digestive juices, including saliva, since they have to be able to deal with indiscriminate eating habits and using their tongues as toilet paper. ;)
Reply:It%26#039;s because they only eat the same type of food and stuff similar to that.Plus they have all of those bones and toys we give them to get off the plaque.
