Did/do you have wisdom teeth? And were they pulled?

I am 40 and have had only 1 wisdom tooth form. It has been primarily inactive for the past 10+ years (just at the surface, it is small and is fine left alone). And there is only the possibility of 1 other ever forming, and it is lying dormant.

So, I just read this incredibly interesting article on the evolution of human teeth formation at it led me to wonder if I am a freak or is there more like me?

And secondly, isn%26#039;t this proof of human evolution that the fundies love to say doesn%26#039;t exist?

Here is the link to the article, if you care.

Did/do you have wisdom teeth? And were they pulled?
I had one on the right side of my jaw that needed to be extracted when I was age 17. I had no more, and my teeth are strong and pretty. I recall no one your age with wisdom teeth. This is indeed more proof of evolution. I do not want to hear the silly tales such people as my sister will invent about this to try to deny evolution.
Reply:ya they usally just go in and pull them out like theres no tomro
Reply:I had mine out as a teen.

my mouth was not big enough for all my teeth.

there are lots of people who have wisdom teeth act up at all different ages.
Reply:i had a wisdom tooth and it was pulled. but if it is not bothering you why bother it.
Reply:I am 23 years old and only have the bottom two wisdom teeth coming through, but they are both growing in side ways.. None of the top ones have even started coming out. My husband is 42 and just now having some of his wisdom teeth grow.
Reply:My wisdom teeth all grew out by the time I was 12, and I didn%26#039;t know anything about wisdom teeth back then (I still don%26#039;t) but strangely enough there was no pain and no overcrowding and so they were never removed. I must have a very big mouth.
Reply:I have all 4 wisdom teeth still in my mouth. They grew in. They was a little tenderness, but it wasn%26#039;t painful. There was just no reason for me to pull them. My mom was a bit worried because of her family%26#039;s dental history. But I have no problems at all.
Reply:I have only a tiny sliver of one that will likely never surface, (lucky me) and i%26#039;m 23
Reply:I actually didn%26#039;t get wisdom teeth. They never formed so I ended up making making things up by having jaw allignment surgury in June of next year. Lucky me.
Reply:Mine came in at 21, and were straight as a board and functional molars.

At 28, I was in a car accident where the airbag deployed into the side of my face and dislocated my jaw and cracked my left upper wisdom tooth. I had it removed, and when I was there the maxofacial surgeon told me I had a huge cavity in the upper right and I%26#039;d probably want it removed within a year. 13 months later, I had that one removed. My lowers are fine.

I went to a big chain dentist and they swore up and down I needed the lowers out.... I knew I did not, as they are straight and functional, and my current dentist sometimes says that if I ever get tooth decay there it might be better to pull them than try to fill them, since they don%26#039;t meet upper molars anymore, but that%26#039;s purely a cosmetic, aestethic view, not a necessity.
Reply:I have two. Last year my dentist told me to get them operated on but I never did. I made sure everyone in my family forgot about it. The dentist would probably pissed off at me but I don%26#039;t want to go under the kneif with strange doctors whom I don%26#039;t know messing with me. I%26#039;m hopping if I wait long enough she%26#039;ll pull out the darn things.
Reply:I am 42 and have all four of my wisdoms. They don%26#039;t bother me one bit. If your mouth is too small you will not have room for them. Evidently I have a big mouth (LOL!) and have the room for them. Some people have room, some don%26#039;t. Just depends on how you%26#039;re built.
Reply:Nothing evolutionary about this. Your teeth are just your teeth.

I had mine pulled when I was about eighteen or so because they were terribly crooked and and as I got older they came closer and closer to the nerve endings until I was in permanent pain.

Couldn%26#039;t believe how big they were though when I saw them. It explained the pain!
Reply:had all 4 removed, my brother only had three and all were removed, and i have two other siblings that had all 4 removed
Reply:I have no wisdom teeth. An adult is supposed to have 32 teeth, with the wisdom teeth being included in that figure. I have 28. I%26#039;m almost 26, so I doubt they%26#039;ll %26quot;pop in%26quot;, and I have no room in my mouth for more teeth any way.
Reply:i have all my wisdom teeth. they hurt a lot when i was teething. had to use bonjella. they are fine now tho. just act up a little occasionally. people get them yanked for no reason at all. they are scaredy cats.
